Texas Counties Deliver



Since 1981, Title 6, Chapter 144 of the TEXAS AGRICULTURE CODE, requires a brand or mark to be registered every ten years.

Cattle brands are filed with the County Clerk and submitted to the Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association.  The fee, to register a brand/mark, in Brown County, is $26.00 and includes one brand location on one animal.  It is $5.00 for an additional brand/mark on the same animal.  No personal checks are accepted, only cashier's checks or money orders. Brands applications are filed in the Official Public Records.  All marks and brands that are registered between August 31, 2012 and August 29, 2021, will expire on August 30, 2021.

The Application form may be filed in person, at the county clerk’s office, or mailed to Brown County Clerk, 200 South Broadway, Ste 101, Brownwood, TX  76801.  If Application is mailed, please have the signatures notarized.  For more information, call the county clerk’s office at 325-643-2594.
