Director of Information Technology

 

The goal is to ensure IT systems and people are effective and functioning within the limits of budget, time and specifications of the County.

 

Responsibilities

Oversee all technology operations (e.g. network security) and evaluate them according to established goals.

Devise and establish IT policies and systems to support the implementation of strategies.

Analyze the business requirements of all departments to determine their technology needs.

Purchase efficient and cost effective technological equipment and software.

Inspect the use of technological equipment and software to ensure functionality and efficiency.

Identify the need for upgrades, configurations or new systems.

Control budget and report on expenditure.

Assist in building relationships with vendors and creating cost-efficient contracts.

Requirements and skills

Proven experience as IT director or similar role

Experience in analysis, implementation and evaluation of IT systems and their specifications

Sound understanding of computer systems (hardware/software), networks etc.

Experience in controlling information technology budget

Excellent organizational and leadership skills

Outstanding communication abilities

Part-Time Road Crew Employee

Brown County Precinct 2 has opening for part time road crew employee. The position will be 30 hours or less per week at $12.00/hour.  Duties will include but are not limited to the following; trimming of trees with chainsaw, mowing, weed-eating, applying road patch material by shovel etc…

If interested, please apply at the Brown County Courthouse on the 3rd floor in the Commissioners office Monday-Thursday 8:30-12:00 and 1:00-4:30 pm and Friday 8:30-12:00.

Detention/Transport Officer

The Ray West Juvenile Justice Center is seeking a part time detention/transport officer to work on an on call, as needed basis, 0-80 hours per month.  Hourly pay at $12.68.  Must be available all shifts.  Applications can be picked up Monday-Thursday at 818 FM 3254, Brownwood.

The Ray West Juvenile Justice Center is seeking detention officers to work on an on call, as needed basis, 0-40 hours per month, evenings and weekends.

The Brown County Sheriff's Office is hiring three full time jailers at the Brown County Jail.  These positions are as follows:

  • Night Shift 6pm-6am
  • Every other weekend of for 3 days
  • Paid Holiday/Vacation/Sick Leave
  • $30,000/year
  • Blue Cross/Blue Shield Paid Insurance
  • Must be 18yrs old with a valid driver's license.
  • Must have a high school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Must pass a criminal background, medical & drug screen, psychological screen, and a reading comprehension test.
