Grants and Governmental Affairs Coordinator

The Brown County Judges Office has an opening for a Grants and Governmental Affairs Coordinator.

The Position requires knowledge with State and Federal Governmental operations.
·        Ability to develop and produce grants and other proposals.
·        Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
·        Knowledge of current developments/trends in area of expertise.
·        Ability to determine informational needs, to collect and analyze information, and to devise and  develop statistical analyses and reports.
·        Skill in the use of personal computers and related software applications.
·        Database management skills.
·        Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities.
·        Ability to analyze and interpret financial data and prepare financial reports, statements and/or  projections.
·        Ability to provide technical advice and information to faculty and staff in area of expertise.
·        Ability to make administrative/procedural decisions and judgments.
·        Knowledge of grant funding policies and procedures and applicable local, state, federal regulations.
·        Knowledge of federal, state and/or community funding sources and mechanisms.
·        Knowledge of budgeting and fiscal management principles and procedures.
·        Ability to conduct literature searches.

Part-Time Road Crew Employee

Brown County Precinct 2 has opening for part time road crew employee. The position will be 30 hours or less per week at $12.00/hour.  Duties will include but are not limited to the following; trimming of trees with chainsaw, mowing, weed-eating, applying road patch material by shovel etc…

Detention/Transport Officer

The Ray West Juvenile Justice Center is seeking a part time detention/transport officer to work on an on call, as needed basis, 0-80 hours per month.  Minimum pay of $800 -Maximum $1200 per month.  Must be available all shifts.  Applications can be picked up Monday-Thursday at 818 FM 3254, Brownwood.

The Ray West Juvenile Justice Center is seeking detention officers to work on an on call, as needed basis, 0-40 hours per month, evenings and weekends.

The Brown County Sheriff's Office is hiring three full time jailers at the Brown County Jail.  These positions are as follows:

  • Night Shift 6pm-6am
  • Every other weekend of for 3 days
  • Paid Holiday/Vacation/Sick Leave
  • $30,000/year
  • Blue Cross/Blue Shield Paid Insurance
  • Must be 18yrs old with a valid driver's license.
  • Must have a high school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Must pass a criminal background, medical & drug screen, psychological screen, and a reading comprehension test.
